China's low-temperature pyrolysis power generation technology for garbage

China is using low-temperature pyrolysis technology to convert waste into energy. This "green" method breaks down materials such as plastics and household waste into combustible gas (syngas), liquids, and solid residues. The process operates in the absence of oxygen at approximately 380°C, and the resulting products can be used to generate electricity, heat, or other valuable chemicals. Chinese company Fireprint has developed and patented various continuous-flow pyrolysis technologies and reactors to achieve efficient energy recovery and waste reduction.
 
How it works
1. Pyrolysis:
Under anaerobic conditions (in the absence of oxygen) and at relatively low temperatures (approximately 380°C), waste is heated and broken down into smaller molecules.
2. Product Formation:
The process produces the following product mixture:
Combustible gas (syngas): A mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and other hydrocarbons.
Liquid products: These include fuel oil and other hydrocarbons.
Solids: No unwanted residues remain, and all of the waste is converted into forest waste.
3. Energy Recovery:
The combustible gas can be used as fuel to generate electricity in engines or gas turbines. 4. Waste Heat Utilization:
The high-temperature exhaust gas generated during the power generation process can be further used in waste heat boilers to generate steam or hot water for residential and industrial purposes.

China has developed innovative pyrolysis equipment and processes, such as those offered by Fireprint and Yongjin, that can effectively process mixed waste.
Distributed Systems:
China utilizes small distributed energy stations to provide electricity and heat to local users, such as residential areas and commercial centers.
